Recipe: Summer Sweets and Treats (SS17)

Red Berry Smoothie 

This is a perfect summer treat for on a hot day, when in the mood for something fruity, sweet and healthy. Also, great for fitness fanatics, as it offers tons of vitamin C, and is the ultimate energy booster.


  • 1 Banana
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • ½ cup red currants
  • ½ cup blue berries
  • 30 ml soya/dairy milk
  • 20 ml water 

This is in fact extremely easy to do. One can use a bag of frozen red fruits, but it is most preferable and beneficial to use fresh fruit in order to obtain the maximum vitamins possible.

Firstly, if fresh fruit is used, wash it thoroughly to remove any dirt or left-over preservatives on it away. Prepare an electrical mixer or a blender, and add all the fruit inside. Add the milk and the water to the fruit before mixing it in the mixer/blender. Secure the top of the blender and blend the fruit. Add more liquid; water or milk as wished in order to achieve the wished consistency.
